Why Bhishma Pitamah had to Suffer on a Bed of Arrows?

Why Bhishma Pitamah had to Suffer on a Bed of Arrows?
When Bhishma Pitamah was struck down by Arjuna,in the Mahabharata War, he fell down from his chariot. But since the arrows had pierced his chest (gone aar-paar), he did not touch the ground, but remained lying on the bed of arrows. His head was hanging, he needed to rest it, and told Arjuna to make some provision. Arjuna immediately stuck 3 arrows beneath his head to support it. Bhishma remarked joyfully - "What a fitting pillow for a warrior like me - a pillow to match the bed !". Next he asked for water, since he was thirsty. Arjuna once, more, struck a mighty arrow right through the earth, and Ganga maiya surged up to pour cool water in the parched mouth of her beloved son. So Bhishma Pitamah had to suffer the pangs on the bed of arrows in battlefield before attaining final beatitude and redemption to Vaikuntha Loka.
Now what was the Karmic reason that Bhishma Pitamah had to Suffer on a Bed of Arrows? To the question as to why Bhishma Pitamah was suffering this punishment even when he had not committed any sin during past 72 birth lives (Great Bhishma could peep into his past lives through Samadhi), Lord Krishna replied him that he committed a folly in past 73rd life birth when he inflicted injuries to insects by piercing thorns / needles into their bodies. Those thorns have now appeared as bed of arrows for you. Your sinful Karma remained dormant as you were a pious person throughout theses lives but since you have now become a party to Adharma of Duryodhana, the sanchit evil Karma’s of 73rd life has ripened now.
So if a person has done good Karmas in past lives, he/she gets a good life in future births & if he/she has done bad karmas in past lives then that person has to suffer bad fruit of those bad Karmas. So it is generally said that we should do good Karmas only.
Below are few verses of Bhagwat Gita which explain about how a soul travels from one body to the other & where it goes as per the Karmic law:
"yada sattve pravrddhe tu
pralayam yati deha-bhrt
tadottama-vidam lokan
amalan pratipadyate" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Fourteen verse 14)
"Sri Krishna said: O Arjuna, When one dies in the mode of goodness (after doing good Karmas) , he attains to the pure higher planets of the great sages."
"rajasi pralayam gatva
karma-sangisu jayate
tatha pralinas tamasi
mudha-yonisu jayate" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Fourteen verse 15)
"Sri Krishna said: O Arjuna, When one dies in the mode of passion, he takes birth among those engaged in fruit producing activities (i.e. as a man or woman on earth); and when one dies in the mode of ignorance (after doing bad Karmas) , he takes birth in the bird & animal kingdom."
So it is said that we should do all our Karmas for the God only as by doing such Karmas no evil result shall come out of those Karmas in future lives.
"yajnarthat karmano ’nyatra
loko ’yam karma-bandhanah
tad-artham karma kaunteya
mukta-sangah samachara" (Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Three verse 9)
"Sri Krishna said: Work done as a sacrifice for Vishnu has to be performed, otherwise work causes bondage in this material world. Therefore, O Arjuna, perform your prescribed duties for His satisfaction, and in that way you will always remain free from bondage."
So let’s do Good Karmas only so that we shall get Goof Fruits of those Karmas in future births. Let’s do all the Karmas for God only as by that way God shall protect us always.
Jai Shri Krishna

NASA Recorded Om Sound from Sun: Facts Hot

NASA Recorded Om Sound from Sun: Facts Hot

NASA Recorded Om Sound from Sun: Facts

Story:

Sun sounds Om, NASA research says.

Other Versions

1. Aum - Music of the sun recorded by scientists.
2. Ohm the sound of sun - NASA!

Hoax or Fact:

Mixture of hoax and facts.

Analysis:

These many messages, also along with various videos claim that NASA has recorded the sounds from Sun to be Om (Aum or Ohm) -- the ancient, mystic sound of Hindu religion. Let us analyze the claims in detail.

In 2010

In mid 2010, for the first time, astronomers at the University of Sheffield managed to record the vibrations (eerie musical harmonies) produced by the magnetic field in the outer atmosphere of Sun. Huge magnetic loops known as coronal loops were observed coiling away from the outer layer of the sun's atmosphere, which behave like sound waves traveling through a wind instrument, i.e. vibrate like strings on a musical instrument.
Since sound cannot travel through the near vacuum of space, scientists cannot record the sounds produced in the Sun's atmosphere directly. So the scientists at the University of Sheffield used the satellite images of giant magnetic loops spread over thousands of miles to recreate the sound -- by turning the visible vibrations into noises and speeding up their frequencies to make them audible to the human ear. The noise from such a large and powerful source as Sun sounded as a sort of music because it has harmonics. Shown in the short, first video is the same, received from a NASA space telescope TRACE (Transitional Region and Coronal Explorer) that was designed to study and investigate the magnetic fields and the associated plasma structures on the Sun's atmosphere. Note that the video actually shows eruptions from the solar corona, embedded with the recreated audio.
The motive of the investigation was to study the growing concerns about the increasing solar activity that can have catastrophic effects on earth. Professor Fáy-Siebenbürgen explained that studying the "music of the sun" can provide new ways of understanding and predicting solar flares before they happen. To study this and understand the power of the sun, the Faculty of Science at University of Sheffield also launched a project called 'Project Sunshine'.

In 2013

In a news report released in late 2013, NASA published that Voyager 1 (another space probe to study the outer Solar System) has recorded two outbursts of "interstellar plasma music" -- one in Oct-Nov. 2012 and the other in April-May 2013. Both of them were excited by bursts of solar activity, and according to space physicist Don Gurnett, the principal investigator for the Plasma Wave Science instrument on Voyager 1, space can make music if you know how to listen. The second video is a report on these findings.

Significance of Om

Om (also written as Aum or Ohm) is an ancient mantra and mystical sound of Hindu origin (India and Nepal), which is considered sacred and significant in various religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism. Hindus believe that all the divine and other creation form of consciousness originated from the vibration manifesting as sound "OM". Like cross is sacred to Christians, so is Om to Hindus, which occurs in almost every Sanskrit prayer and invocation to deities.
In Vedas and other Hindu scriptures, AUM is the 'Sound of the Sun' and the 'Sound of Light'. In Chandogya Upanishad (before the 8th century BCE), the holy syllable OM or udgitha was meditated as Sun God. The Mandukya Upanishad details the significance of Om saying it is the imperishable word; the past, the present, and the future.
In a theory known as the Harmony of the Spheres, even Pythagoras proposed that the Sun, Moon and planets all emit their own unique hum (orbital resonance) depending on their orbital revolution.

Om Sound from Sun?

The two study reports in 2010 and 2013 mentioned above did show samples of sounds recorded from Sun's atmosphere, however, none of them mentioned Om sound or such resemblance. As you can hear in the beginning of the audio in first video, only a segment of the recording (audio) sounds a bit Om-y. Apart from that, there are other sounds as well.
Some online sources like a 2010 blog article on awakenvideo.org mentioned the sound of the sun recorded by NASA to be precisely as the ancient Hindus had described it in the Vedas thousands of years ago; that it is a mantra which can be intoned with human speech as "OM". The article also featured a documentary film called 'Quantum Communication' that says human communication works from the Quantum level and is connected to the Universal Laws of Attraction. Then there came up many videos even concluding that NASA recorded the Om sound from Sun.

To Conclude

NASA, as such, did not say that the various samples recorded from the Sun's atmosphere sound like the sacred Hindu syllable Om. However, a segment of the audio in the beginning of first video can be interpreted as sounding Om. Some people even say that Om is among the sounds recorded in deep space, all of which needs further studies to draw any conclusion. Nonetheless, the actual sound of Om is very grounding and peaceful; that which gathers and focuses our mind.

Wow. Thanks a lot for the nice article. Very informative.
I was considering it a hoax first.
I watched the first video and you say it sounds a little bit om~y? It is aum only in the beginning. It is totally om. It is not about believing, can't u listen it? It is totally om~y in the beginning.
They did not claim it to be aum, how much does that matter when you can clearly listen to it yourself.

There are other sounds as well of course, but as taught in Sikh panth and Sanatan Dharm, Boddh dharm, etc. that original harmonics of the universe is aum. I would want to find out which is the original

OM is the source of energy from which the entire universe and galaxies came into being. This truth will not be acepted by christaian section or investigators belonging to that sect. You must acecept that realigions came into existence only few thosand years ago. But Hindu saints have recoginsed the sound OM, long before the scientists. I would add that OM is universal and belonging to the entire human beings.
All advanced yogi will hear this sound while in yoga practice.

VISHNUPAD

VISHNUPAD
Kausarnag (sometimes alternatively spelled as Konsarnag) is located at an altitude of 12,000 ft, has been worshipped since times immemorial as Visnupad (foot of Visnu). In Nilmat Times it was called by its Sanskrit name Kramasaras or Kramsara (Kramafootstep, Saras lake). The lake is shaped as a foot and it is believed that Lord Vishnu had placed his holy foot in the place where the present big lake was formed. Since it is supposed to mark the footstep of Visnu, it is the main objective of the Naubandhana pilgrimage.
JOURNEY
Naubhandana Tirtha is located in Kulgam tehsil. One can reach Konsarnag lake by Avil. Avil (old name, Awal) was in olden times ruled by a Kotraj (local chief), who controlled the territory from Damhal Hanjipora to Aharbal.
Avil to Konsarnag
Indersar :
Indersar lake is 2 kms from Lahanpathri. God Indra who figures in Konsarnag mythology is associated with this lake. Unlike Ksirsar and Brahmsar, this lake finds no mention in Nilmat or Naubandhana mahatmya. Lake is circular in shape, about 1 km in circumference. Lake water is warm as sunlight falls regularly on this lake. How the water from Indersar escapes is not known. Apparently there is no outlet.
Ksirsar:
After crossing Chittinadi, there is gradual ascent along the base of the peaks to Ksirsar. The distance is over 4 kms. Ksirsar is spread over thirty kanals. Though circular in shape, it has numerous podia-like elongations. The lake has a clear outlet for water. Its water is milky-white. Since the peaks are too close, no circumambulation of the lake is possible. It is said that there is a big memorial stone of cow. Water oozing out from the glaciers on the peaks falls on the cow and then comes out through teats into the lake. The lake has a clear outlet for its waters.Ksirsar finds mention in Nilmat and Naubhandana mahatmya. The latter describes Ksirsar as resembling a full-moon of Purnima, with its water looking like Ksir. It refers to Upmanu’s asrama here. As per Naubhandna Mahatmya, the lake was created by Sankara himself and one reaches Shivlok by taking bath in it. Nilmat says,” one attains heaven and saves one’s family by seeing the sacrificial place of Brahma there. By seeing there the beautiful Ksirsara, one is released from sins. By bathing on the dark 14th after reaching the source of the Samara (? Chittinadi), one is freed from all the sins and is honoured in the world of Rudra”. Naubhandana Mahtmaya says Upmanu’s asrama is situated in the forest around Ksirsar.
Brahmsar:
While going from Chiryunbal to Hakwas, a bridge is crossed near Hera (upper) Chiryun bal. Then one has to climb gradually a distance of 8 kms (3 hrs), at places over old snow, to reach Brahmsar Lake.Bath in Brahmsar lake, as per Naubhandna mahatmya, has the merit of getting access to Brahmlok. The water of the lake comes out through a regular outlet. Pilgrims desirous of taking bath do not venture to go into the lake. They take out water for bath from the lake at its outlet. Brahmsar lake is spread over 15 kanals.
The path from Brahmsar to Konsarnag is via Ksirsar and Indersar and is quite tough. Only Old Kashmiri Pandits shepherds and Bakarwals take this route. For Kashmiri Pandits this route has a very imporant glory so our ancestors take this route.
Meaning of the Shalokas From Nilmat Purana-
Verse 181. Brahma, Visnu and S'ambhu gave their own names to the peaks on which they had taken
their stand, on the earth.
Verse 182-183. O best among men, they said to the high peaks of the high-souled king of the mountains: "Whoever shall see you after taking bath in this lake called Kramasara, shall see three of us on the mountain and will go to heaven.
