APMCC condemns false politically
motivated media coverage of KP deaths in Valley
Jammu, February 3: All
Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) has strongly condemned the
attitude of certain elements to politicize every death taking place among the Kashmiri
Pandit community in Valley by painting it as a benevolent gesture and spreading
false rumours that Muslims performed the last rites of the dead.
In a joint statement issued by APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit
and National Spokesperson King Bharati, the leaders have said that the recent
episode of the death of one Janki Nath Bhat, aged 86 years resident of Malwan in
Kulgam district who was living with his wife Rani in his village is yet another
example of how facts were being twisted to give it a different colour.
In this regard APMCC wants to clarify that our team was very
much there and the last rites were performed as per Hindu tradition and the
presence of Muslims was purely as a neighborhood gesture which is common during
the deaths of the neighbours all over the world, they added.
They said that the APMCC team lead by Rahul Ramesh Raina and
Ashok Singh Jamwal along with Satesh Ji were very much there besides other
neighbours and relatives like Jawalal Ji of Chawalgam, Jawlal Ji of Chiyan, Mrs
Kishni Pandita, Surinder Pandita, Kuldeep Kilam, Vijay ji Ashok Ji Seshoo of
Devsar and others.
Jankai Nath ji expired on Thursday and his last rites were
performed the same day at 2:30 pm.
Janki Nath ji has a daughter who is married and was living
in Delhi has now shifted to Jammu.
“While participation of Muslim neighbours is appreciative
but the fact is that everybody participates during any death irrespective of
cast creed or colour everywhere in India and giving it a different colour has
become a habit of some elements to spread false propaganda in the whole world”,
said King Bharati.
“Do we publicize the deaths of our neighbours in Jammu or
elsewhere and try to claim the credit of last rites?
APMCC warns such elements to desist from politicizing the
sad and unfortunate deaths among Kashmiri Pandit families living in Kashmir
Valley” said Vinod Pandit.
APMCC has also released photographs of the episode to show
that last rites were performed as per Hindu tradition.
