HARISHORE CAVE

Khanmoh a Village in Srinagar District of Jammu & Kashmir.Famous Sanskrit poet BILHAN of 12th centuary was also born here. An important place for archelogical reserch, having rich limestone fossils.Near Khanmoh village on the mountain ridge there is a natural cave dedicated to GOD SHIVA called HARISHORE.The mouth of the cave is believed to close every year the length of a barley grain and a rock outside the cave growing so much bigger.There is also a cave which is beleived to open every year the length of a barley grain.There is a natural lingam inside the cave and a quartz vein on the ceiling which drips water is called Vasak Nag ( the Lord Of Serpents). It is visited by Hindus on New Moon and Full Moon..( SHRAVANI PUNIM)
