Odisha once again is facing the wrath of Mother Nature as Cyclone Fani makes landfall in the Puri district. With howling winds nearing 200 kmph, situations out there are quite tense. See photos

(Photo Credit : AP) After the 1999 super cyclone, Odisha braced another impact as the Cyclone Fani, pronounced as Foni, made its landfall at around 9 AM on May 3, 2019. With wind speed over 200kmph, it’s definitely a tense situation out there. The Indian Coast Guard has positioned 34 disaster relief teams at Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Gopalpur, Paradip, Kolkata, Haldia and Frazergunj. The state government has evacuated over 1 million people from vulnerable areas. The cyclone will continue moving north-northeastwards and will hit the Gangetic region of West Bengal as severe cyclonic storm by the early morning of May 4.
