When Bhaiji Shri Hanuman Prasadji Poddar left his body ,the religious and spritual world was shaken as there was no parallel personality who could fill the space created by Bhaiji . The contemporary personalities wrote about this loss to the world as tributes to this great saint as follows;
Shri Hanuman Prasadji Poddar
was a person who believed in and lived religion in its true sense. The institutions
of the Gita press and The religious monthly ‘Jaktab’ are the results of his dedication. The literature that he has produced in the Press is of such great value and importance that the future generations in this country , who may have any regard for real religion , will learn a lot from it and will be greatly benefited . He dedicated his whole life to put before the society our great cultural heritage in order that the country is built up again on sound foundations of our culture and that it reaches a height greater than it had reached in the hoary past.
The different editions of the Gita ,the Ramayana and the Great Upanishads , which have been published in millions and in the form of cheap and nice books , will be the best memorial of Shri Hanuman Prasadji for centuries to come. They are living memorials of his love for the vedic religion , our ancient , culture and the great future of this country.
No country can rise to greatness, strength and lasting prosperity , materially and spiritually, without a sound base of religion guiding the human mind . This has been very effectively supplied through the Gita Press and will, I am sure, continue to be supplied in future,

Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddarji is one of the greatest sons of India in recent times. Though we attained freedom from foreign yoke, sufficient efforts have not yet been made to re-establish our culture , which is based on simplicity , service and sacrifice , character, conduct and spiritualism . Neither our religion nor philosophy nor even morality is taught in the schools and colleges and the idea of a secular state has been misinterpreted and the exclusion of these subjects from the curricula in the educational institutions is the result.
Our children are being brought up in a materialistic civilization . All education is directed to one purpose i.e. of giving a means of living to young men. All science is directed towards increasing creature comforts of a human being. We are in a conflict of civilizations. The western materialistic civilization is fast overpow4ering us and has shaken our spiritualistic culture to its foundation. the laws of jungle once again are being adopted by human beings . Violence , stuggle for existence, survival of the fittest , the strong oppressing the weak have become the order of the day. Though
Faith in the effectiveness of spiritual force has almost disappeared and faith in armaments and brute force has taken its place. Oneness of humanity is being talked of, but in practice, this has been thrown to the winds. The world is now divided into compartments and domination and exploitation are the ideals before the big powers.
In this world of today , Shri Poddar has rendered a very valuable service through the Gita Press by Disseminating our religious and philosophical ideals inculcating the idea of oneness in the universe. According to the Gita , the universe is one and that is none other than God. The true spirit of Hinduism is to see god in the universe and to worship God by service to his creatures in a spirit of detachment. ……….
Shri Poddar preached what he taught . In sri Poddar there was a visible growth of both these spiritual practices. Gandhiji won freedom for our land and wanted to establish Rama Rajya by his constructive approach. He was himself a great devoteee of God. That work has been continued by Shri Poddarji. He spent his last days in meditation. With him we are losing one of our most religous and pious persons and selfless workers for the cause of our religion ,philosophy and culture.
