Tapkeshwar Temple is a cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located in
the Garhi Cantonment area, this temple is an important tourist
destination of the hill city. The Tapkeshwar Temple of Dehradun is

tourists visiting the temple to pay their obeisance to the deity. A
large festival is held on Shivratri day around the Tapkeshwar Temple in

Laxman Sidh Temple @ Dehradun-Haridwar By-pass

Siddh Temple, located at a distance of 12 km from Dehradun, is known
for its scenic beauty. This temple is the cremation site of the
Saint-Swami Laxman Siddh, which is visited by large number of tourists
every year. According to a popular belief, it is said that the temple is
constructed on the same place where Laxman underwent repentance for
killing the demon king Ravana. Thousands of devotees visit this temple
during the annual Laxman Siddh Fair, which is also a major attraction.
Tourists visiting the temple can reach the here only on foot.
Buddha Temple @ Clement Town
One
of the most extravagant Buddhist Temples is situated at Clement Town in
Dehradun and has been a centre of attraction for International tourists
and Buddhist followers. Built in 1965, the structure was created under
one of the four schools of Tibetan religion. These were named ‘Nyingma’,
and the rest of three known as Sakya, Kagyu and Geluk respectively. It
is believed to be the Asia’s largest reliquary and represents Buddhist
structural design. Marvelous wall paintings in pure gold color,
illustrates the life of Lord Buddha. Near about 50 artists took almost
three years to paint the walls of the exemplary structure with gold
paint. The remarkable fat about this Stupa is that, every floor has a
Buddha effigy and Gurupadmasambhava’s statue amongst others. The essence
of Indian Buddhism is truly highlighted here.
Sai Temple @ Rajpur Road
The
famous Shirdi Sai Darbar in situated around 4.5 kms from the city
centre and is flocked by people of all caste and creed for worship. It
is located among the greens of the valley in Rajpur road where one finds
an air of spirituality and peace of mind. The Shirdi Sai Darbar temple
is situated a short drive away from the city centre on a hilly terrain
along Rajpur road in a tranquil and serene ambiance. It is designed with
high artistic values in glittering marble stones, the interior of the
temple is bedecked with exquisite paintings with enchanting colors. The
Sai Darbar Temple allures not only to the pious minded but also to the

spirituality and peace of mind. My visit to this temple was a moving and
uplifting experience.
Santala Devi Mandir @ Nimbuwala-Garhi Cantt.
Santala
Devi Temple is located at a distance of about 15 km from Dehradun.
Travellers can reach the temple by availing bus services till
Jaitunwala, and from there, it is a 2 km drive to Punjabiwala. From
Punjabiwala, travellers have to trek about 2 km to reach the
temple.According to legends, when Santla Devi and her
brother realized that they would not be able to fight the Mughals, they
threw away their weapons and started to pray. Suddenly, a light
flickered on both of them, and they turned into stone idols. The temple
is thronged by devotees on Saturdays, as it is believed that these days
mark the transformation of Santala Devi into a stone statue.
Shiv Mandir @ Mussoorie Diversion Road
The
famous Shiva temple, near Kuthal gate along the way to Mussoorie, is of
great religious importance among the visitors not only from India but
all over the world and hence you could find a number of foreign tourists
coming to this divine place. The Shiv mandir is situated in the
beautiful down the Mussoorie road slope location in the lush greens,
where one can find complete peace of mind in the calm and cool fresh
air. There is Bhandaara every other day in the Shiv Mandir where the

Daat Kali Mandir @ Dehradun-Saharanpur Highway

Kali Mata Mandir is a unique temple in its own. It is situated 7 kms.
from the center of the city in Delhi-Dehradun. If one is coming from
Delhi side one can find this temple in the entrance. The temple has lot
of religious significance. This temple is on the road of Dehradun Marg
to Saharanpur Marg in forests, which is facing heavy vehicular traffic .

Maa Daat Kali attracts millions of devotees every year. Yatris have to
undertake a trek of nearly 14 km from the base camp at Dehradun. From
